The Alpharetta High School Football Program is lead by Head Coach Jason Dukes.

Coach Dukes attended Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA where he was a four sport athlete
excelling in football, baseball, basketball, and track and field.  His performance earned him
the Carlos Bearden Student Athlete Award, the A. L. Williams Baseball Trophy, All-State
Honors in football, and the C.S.R.A. Rotary Club Athlete of the Year Award.

In 1991, he graduated and accepted a full scholarship to attend and play football for Bobby
Ross and the defending national champion Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.  After a redshirt
freshman campaign, Dukes was a four-year starter at the right tackle position.  After
graduating Tech, Dukes was selected as and signed as a rookie free agent by the
Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL.

After an injury and subsequent release, Dukes entered the corporate world, working for
several large consulting firms until his decision to positively impact the lives of young people
through teaching and coaching.  Coach Dukes’ coaching career started working for Scott
Jones at South Cobb with the 8th grade feeder league program.

For the last four years, Coach Dukes has worked as an assistant coach at Alpharetta High
School, coaching the offensive line.  In that time, he has also coached the ninth grade boys
basketball team while acting as a varsity assistant.  Coach Dukes also is the throwing coach
for the Alpharetta girls and boys Track and Field team.

Coach Dukes is proud to teach economics in Alpharetta’s outstanding Social Science
Department. He holds a degree in Economics from Georgia Tech and a Master’s Degree in
Economics Education from Mercer University.

Coach Dukes is happily married to his wife Nangula. And they are the proud parents of one
girl, Naomi.
